Ms. Laurie J. Perez is a Paralegal at Contreras & Metelska, PA, that works primarily on immigration cases. She works directly with clients and their families to gather evidence, draft affidavits, and prepare applications for immigration cases. Her role is to support the attorneys and help newer staff in preparing accurate and high quality applications for USCIS, EOIR, and the US consulates and embassies across the world.
Mrs. Perez followed her love for language and culture by double majoring in Spanish/Portuguese Studies and Global studies at the University of Minnesota.
Mrs. Perez began her career working as a legal assistant with Wilson Law Group and in August 2009 and joined Contreras & Metelska, PA as a paralegal in December 2013. Her specialties include working on waivers of inadmissibility, family based petitions and consular processing, VAWA, adjustment of status, removal defense, and naturalization cases.
Mrs. Perez is originally from Minnesota and her interest in working with immigrants originated from spending a year abroad in Bolivia as a high school exchange student. Her husband is originally from Oaxaca, Mexico and she has three children. In her free time, she loves spending time with her children, being in the outdoors, taking Zumba classes, and traveling to visit friends and family across the world.
